Plastic surgery is to sculpt life, a triumph of modern medicine. As if to re-interpret nature, aesthetic surgery symbolizes the conquest of biology by the autonomy of human desire.

It is no longer considered one specialty of medicine. Nowadays, this splendid profession is not only to satisfy vanity, but also objectifies the psychosomatic health on the patient, restoring the beauty and psychological serenity.

Presentation

The idea to collect in one book texts directed to the main public, without technical or scientific airs, was born from the desire to immortalize in a manual, knowledge that had sprouted weekly from my publications in periodics of great distribution. With this intention, today I see the fulfillment of a dream, to write “Sua Imagem, Sua Escolha” (Your Image, Your Choice), which should expose great questions about plastic surgery, a subject so infatuating and of great interest to a great number of people.

When somebody look for a plastic surgeon to exact a defect that bothers him or her, most of the time the knowledge that person has of the issue is inexact, but with the reading of this book he will have a preparation of great value. The subjects mentioned are very current, covering the most various topics of this art-science profession.

Plastic Surgery is a humanist profession, which corrects human dimorphisms that interfere with social life and values the doctor-patient relation more than any other area of expertise. We, plastic surgeons, belong to a clan that has in our hands the ability to transform into gold other metals (not noble ones) in which some humans are forged.
